Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has recently made retirement hints multiple times, just to announce his intention to fight again.

He most recently stated his intention to fight Derek Chisora a third time just a few days ago.

He was back at it on Friday, the day before his 34th birthday, and announced his retirement from the sport on social media.

He said on Instagram alongside a photo of himself and his trainer SugarHill Steward, "Massive thanks to everyone who had an input in my profession over the years &

after long hard conversations I've finally decided to walk away & on my 34th birthday I say Bon voyage.

Fury announced his "retirement" after defeating Dillian Whyte in six rounds in April. Nevertheless,

the WBC champion announced two months later that he will make a comeback,

most likely to challenge the winner of the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua on August 20 for the undisputed championship.

Then, in what would have amounted to a stay-busy fight, he pursued Chisora while he awaited the outcome of the Usyk-Joshua match.

According to Chisora's birthday announcement, talks with him appear to be deadlocked.

Has Fury really abandoned us? Probably not. The back-and-forth between Fury and the referee may be due to the boxers' propensity to announce retirement to keep their names in news.

His co-promoter believes he will get into another fight.

I always talk to him, as Frank Warren told Sky Sports. If he chooses to fight, he will. I won't in any way tempt him.

The reason being that if he needs it, he shouldn't be fighting. He needs to give it completely out of his heart.

Do I think Tyson will compete again? I do because I think he's a man of action who will be sorely missed for it.
