The reality star was discovered dead last Sunday (17.07.22) in the guest room of a home in Arizona,
local authorities have reported. The reality star was well-known for having been a long-running contestant on the Discovery survival series "Naked and Afraid."
According to Corey Kasun of the Prescott Police Department, who spoke to TMZ: "While the owners were away,
Melanie was taking care of a dog in a Prescott, Arizona, residence.
Melanie was found dead on the bed in the guest room on July 17, when the homeowners returned. Numerous cans of compressed air were found next to her body."
Even though it is uncertain whether the compressed air cans, which are typically used to clean dust off computer keyboards,
played a part in Melanie's mortality, the outlet continued by stating that the Yavapai County Medical Examiner would determine her cause of death in due time.
The article claims that no note was found at the scene, and authorities found no obvious signs of criminal involvement.
According to the reality star's devastating obituary, she is survived by her parents, three sisters, niece, and nephew.
"She loved the outdoors and all living creatures, no matter how big or small. Melanie adored going camping, hiking, and looking for new adventures.
Melanie also enjoys pushing herself. Mel was a devoted sportsman who participated in a variety of adult leagues in his neighbourhood.
She was a devoted Eagles fan. She was a natural comic and had an unmatched sense of humour.
The people closest to Melanie will always cherish their memories of her boisterous laugh."
After learning of Melanie's loss, Jeremy McCaa, a former Melanie cast member, updated his Facebook profile picture and
expressed his "brokenness" over the untimely passing of the "Queen of the Swamp."
