revealed on Friday that she was the mother of a child named Theodore.
The 35-year-old Russian tennis player Maria and 42-year-old British businessman Alexander Gilkes are having their first child together.

Sharapova said on Instagram on Friday, noting in Roman numerals that Theodore was born on July 1.
Only 10 women, including Sharapova, who revealed her pregnancy in April, have ever won all four major singles championships at least once.
Sharapova won her first major title at Wimbledon in 2004 at the age of 17. The US Open in 2006,
the Australian Open in 2008, the French Open in 2012, and the Wimbledon in 2014 were among her subsequent victories.
She also earned a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics before losing to American Serena Williams in the final.
